“The inspiration for this piece came from when I was working in the Rocky Mountains, with the job of burning log stock piles in the wilderness to encourage re-growth. The only way to travel the unsteady ground, deep with snow was by horseback. Even though it was 20 below, the scorching heat from the fires was intense, beautifully contrasting with the snow whites. Greg and I worked away, each on horseback, leading a pack horse with two propane tanks and fire torches.
