Persian Leopard Cubs

Oil on canvas

Shortlisted for Wildlife Artist of the Year

A celebration of wildlife, heritage and hope

Playful Persian leopard cubs move through a richly coloured world of traditional patterns and intricate detail.

At first glance, the painting celebrates the energy and beauty of these extraordinary young animals. Look more closely, however, and a deeper story emerges.

As the cubs move across the canvas, part of their surroundings begins to disappear — a quiet reminder of the uncertain future facing this endangered species.

The vivid reds and greens create both beauty and tension. Inspired by the colours, patterns and cultural heritage of Iran, the painting celebrates diversity while challenging prejudice and intolerance.

Persian Leopard Cubs is both a celebration of life and a call to protect what we risk losing.
